Falling Slowly

As the title suggests, fall is slowly approaching (also a song reference for all you nerds.) I have noticed, probably because in the past two years life has been full of new, fast, and incredible things, that fall sort of just...happens. As a kid you notice these things. You watch the leaves change, you see your breath and pretend your smoking when no one is looking, you smell the moist earth in the fresh, brisk air that fills your lungs with a wonderful nostalgia. When you're grown up though, none of those things are acknowledged. You are busy, you are full, your schedule cannot fit fake smoking and leaf watching, you must EARN, and ACHIEVE, and GENERATE. I personally love the fall. But, then again, I seem to think every season is my favourite season when it comes about. There is something about fall though, there is something different, something spectacular. Fall is above all things exceptional for fashion. In Canada at least. Think about it, in the winter you bundle up and think "no problem...I can wear these high heeled leather boots on ice, easy peasey" and then step outside in -40 and revert back to your clunky winter boots mom bought you from the Bay. Summer is nice, but then it gets insanely hot and you just don't give a damn what your wearing and whether it is stylish or not. Spring is great as far as the smell and feel, but in Canada it is mostly the most disgusting looking thing ever, as least in Feb-early April. Fall, my friend, is when you may sport whatever you want. You can wear a dress and put on some leggings/cool tights, you can wear leg warmers, flats, rain boots, heels, running shoes (got forbid,) keds, converse...whatever! And as we all know/love: Scarves! In this case, not to save our lives from frozen death, but to keep up warm and stylish. Layering is the key to fall, and it provides opportunity for such great jewel tones, and nice textures like thick fabrics and cozy little accessories. I just love fall. I love the smell. I love the way it makes me think. It inspires me. It is fresh and embracing. It also reminds you that, hey, Christmas is coming.

Ahhhh. Greatness.

Newer Things

All I can say is there is something else coming up from under the table. Could be good, could also be 14 hour days of pure pocket filling work.

That is awl.

The Stages of My Room (On a Day by Day Basis)

Monday-Quite neat
Tuesday-Getting messier on account of work tiredness
Wednesday-Who cares, it's a hump day!
Thursday-Getting neater, probably from impulse excitement for the FRIDAY coming
Friday-From neat to catastrophe usually due to friends (boys no doubt) coming over
Saturday-Unknown messiness caused by night before's event (recklessness throwing of clothes everywhere)
Sunday-CLEAN. Probably from being bored in the afternoon.
**IN SOME CASES: Room will be cleaned on Saturday night, at one in the morning

You may ask, "Well, it is a Saturday, what exact state is your room currently in? And does that state coordinate with the above list?"
To which I will reply with "Well my friend, I had a sudden impulse to clean, my room was previously messy today, but out of boredom, I cleaned it. This pertains to the exception listed beside the asterisk if you haven't noticed. The only difference is that it is 11:26pm not one in the morning."

"Oh, that's cool. Maybe you should make plans on a saturday night instead of cleaning your room and explaining it tediously to everyone."
To which, I will reply with "I would have, but I...had to clean"

Boy Crazy

This is a great blog that I discovered through someone else's discovery. Alexi Wassner is her name, and she writes all about boys, and being a girl. She lives, of course, in L.A, and obviously uses her current place of residence to her advantage as she has some interviews with pretty high up there people. The blog is funny, witty, inspiring, and makes you feel not so bad for doing some of the silly things that girls do. Yeah empowerment!

OMAR DOOM aka: MY FAVE INGLOURIOUS BASTERD! from alexi wasser on Vimeo.

This is an interview with Inglorious Basterd's Omar Doom. She, as she always does in her interviews with men, asks what they like in a girl, there favourite thing to do in bed, what they don't like in a girl, etc.

Glorious

Holy &*%$. Inglorious Basterds is INSANE. What a film. Totally satisfied any taste buds for film that I ever had, and maybe even churned up a new taste. It was just badass, and I do not use that term lightly, or often. Not only was the dialog, as usual with Tarantino, perfectly constructed with always the slightest sassy sarcasm and humour, but the casting was just astounding and blew me away with a smörgåsbord of talent. The story, above all things, was what held the movie. It did not focus on the concentration camp, horrifically sad and depressing side of the war, hey, it hardly even focused on Hitler, he was more of a side character in this movie haha. The story focused on the brutal scalping American rebels feuding with the ever feared Nazis to seek sweet sweet revenge. Simple as that. And to tell you the truth, we have all wanted to make something like this to shove in history's face. It gets your heart pounding like a jack rabbit, you're on the edge of your seat with the incredibly crafted tension, and you feel like yelling and shouting riotously at the screen in the end with a huge "YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"

Holy shiat, see this movie.

TGIF

A Friday is a Friday is a Friday, but no Friday is complete without a Saturday.

Who IS going to save my soul (now?)

This is a great video by Gnarls Barkley. It stars Jorma from none other than The Lonely Island, as well as a walking, singing, and self loathing human heart.

Eh

Here I am now.
